No no no Barry M

Okay I have got to be honest here. I LOVE Barry M nail paints,  Its is on trend with a great collection of colours and the price point. It is so affordable I could buy 5 at once ( okay maybe 3).

Anyway my point is it is with deepest regret that I have to report that whilst it is cheap, whilst it has lots of colours to choose from it is lacking in quality!

I purchased Acid Yellow Nail paint recently and with the weather looking gloomy as ever I decided to use this bright colour. The results after 3 coats( not impressed) was spot on, bright, and summery. Now here is where the problem starts 4 days later I decided to take the nail polish off with my new Bourjois magic nail remover which is amazing by the way and noticed that my nails were stained.

My poor nails
Sorry my nails ARE still stained. I cannot believe that my nails are stained so as drastic as it may sound I will now refrain from using Barry M nail paints until further notice.

A nail brand that never lets me down is OPI and so that's where my loyalty lies. Until next time xoeve

New product for June 2012

I have just got my Liz Earle Colour products. I am so excited because this is the 1st colour range from Liz Earle, beauty editors are raving about it and as its available in dark shades I can try it out rather than looking at it from a distance. I love their skincare range which I use daily so I am really hoping that this will be as amazing.

I'm particularly excited about using the Perfect Fix Concealer which says 'quickly disguises minor imperfections', and the Healthy Glow cream blush!

So watch this space as I unravel the new colour range from Liz Earle

The Perfect Eye

There are so many new eyeliners in the market today and they are pretty impressive. The Larger than life Long-wear eyeliner by Nars is brilliant. Its really great for the base of your eyes and it lasts all day. Slightly expensive at £17 but worth the investment as it will last a very long time.

However I am really loving the Rimmel london Gel pot liner. It is genius, it comes with a built-in brush which glides on perfectly to create a defined look. The real magic is where the brush is hidden, love it!

I have been using it for 4 weeks now and I totally love it. At £6.49, it is a bargain and it lasts all day.

The tip of the brush is so precise it creates such a perfect line.
Highly recommended ladies. xoeve

Really! Can you Rock it?

So I said in my last post that I would try the Apocalips Lipstick from Illamasqua and try I did.
Ladies on my dark skin, it is NO GO. I think you need to have a striking hairstyle to pull it off and frankly I do not.

The lipcolour is definitely for a daring lady who is not afraid of looking bold and standing out from the crowd.

As you can see the only heads I will be turning are worried old aunties.

On the other day the texture of the lipstick is brilliant, it has a moist finishing touch which leaves you with nice, vuluptous lips.

Whilst the lipcolour was ambitious the nail colour Nomad is amazing. Great colour for this season. I love this shade. I will definitely be wearing this all summer
At £13.50 , its reasonably priced for a quality premium nail polish
Until next time ladies.xoeve

Illamasqua's Best collection yet!

So......

The New Illamasqua collection has launched! And what do I think of it? Well have a look.

Bright Colours at your service
It’s absolutely gorgeous. The Eyeshadows are bright and bold and every product is making a statement that  'You can become who you are and not who you are told to be’

The lipstick in Apocalips (Bright Teal) is definitely on my wishlist....a bold statement on dark skin but I will try it and unravel in my next post.

Apocalips

You can purchase Illamasqua from Selfridges, ASOS.com and they have a store on Beak Street in London. The prices are reasonable at £16.50 for an eyeshadow and £15.50 for their lipstick. Worth the investment.

TIP of the Week: To get RID of cellulite, have a hot shower followed by a cold one, it works wonders I have been told...

Until next time xoeve.

Welcome to my Blog

Okay so I have to say I am so late...... only just got into Blogs and considering I work in the fashion industry you would think that I would be a veteran but not the case. I decided to create a blog because I absolutely love beauty products and wanted to share my findings with the world.....YOU!!!!!.
As a woman of colour and dark skinned I love experimenting with new colours, new brands and new innovations that create a beautiful picture (my face).

The best time in the morning for me, after thanking God for giving me YET another day to be a better person, is to look in the mirror and see a blank canvass (my face) and know that a beautiful picture will be created today. It’s a beautiful thing ladies!

So this blog is about my new findings: the classics, the newbies and the downright unnecessary.... you know the PRODUCTS that do absolutely nothing for you and in some cases cost a fortune. I will tell you the truth about my experience with these products and also offer tips on what works for me.
So follow me on this beautiful journey and please share your findings and tips with me too....because EVELYN LOVES BEAUTY!!!!
